Position/Project Overview:
Project Solutions Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector to support the 47th Civil Engineer Squadron (47 CES) and 47th Contracting Squadron (47 CONS) at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, by providing professional services in program management, construction inspection, and acquisition support under a long-term U.S. Air Force contract. The Construction Inspector supports the U.S. Air Force by overseeing construction-related activities and helping ensure projects are performed in accordance with contract requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Coordinate construction project requirements with the Program Manager, 47th Contracting Squadron (47 CONS), and 47th Civil Engineer Squadron (47 CES) to support successful design, construction, and project closeout activities
- Ensure construction contractors comply with Government-approved plans, specifications, and contract requirements for assigned construction projects
- Work closely with contractor representatives regarding site safety, quality control practices, project scheduling, acceptable construction methods, and contract compliance
- Monitor and evaluate construction progress schedules and document daily work progress using AF Form 1477
- Identify, document, and report project delays, deficiencies, construction issues, and other factors that could impact project execution
- Investigate and report potential contractor claims, disputes, and other controversial construction issues to the Government within one hour of identification or notification
- Review technical evaluations, contract modifications, contractor submittals, stored materials, daily weather conditions, and project progress to support contract administration and payment recommendations
- Assist the Program Manager by providing project data, status updates, and supporting information required for weekly activity reports and project tracking
Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of construction inspection, quality control, and contractor compliance with project plans and specifications
- Familiarity with Air Force construction standards, regulations, and engineering guidelines
- Preferred certifications include ICC Electrical (E2), Mechanical (M2), or Plumbing (P2) Inspector, AutoCAD Certified Associate (ACA), and E4Clicks certification
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a commercial construction superintendent on public, private, and/or federal construction projects, or possession of a current ICC Commercial Inspector (B2) certification
- Experience coordinating construction activities with project teams, contractors, and government stakeholders to support project execution and closeout
- Experience ensuring contractor compliance with approved plans, specifications, quality standards, and contract requirements
- Experience monitoring construction schedules, documenting daily progress, and tracking project performance
- Experience identifying, documenting, and resolving construction deficiencies, delays, and project-related issues
- Experience reviewing contractor submittals, contract modifications, technical evaluations, and project documentation
- Experience performing construction inspections and supporting quality assurance and contract compliance efforts throughout the project lifecycle
- Experience preparing reports and providing project status updates to support program management and government oversight activities

- Strong analytical and reporting skills, including the ability to track project progress and maintain accurate inspection records
- Familiarity with Air Force engineering standards, construction regulations, and Government project procedures
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment while ensuring safety, quality, and contract compliance
