Inspector/Quality Assurance Manager
Project Solutions Inc. is seeking a seasoned (On-Site) Inspector/QA Manager for a high-profile project at the Speaker Nancy Pelosi Federal Building in San Francisco, CA.

Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000 DOE
Period of Performance: 21.3 months
Project/Position Overview:
The General Services Administration (GSA) intends to renovate and modernize 45,510 USF federal tenant space on floors 2 through 6 at the Speaker Nancy Pelosi Federal Building (SNPFB), located at 90 7th Street, San Francisco, CA. The renovation and reconfiguration of space requires demolition, interior construction, plumbing, electrical, lighting, HVAC, fire protection, and audio/video. The construction project also includes relocation services as well as furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E). The planned project delivery is Design-Bid-Build (DBB) with a separate contract for construction services.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage the inspections of physical work performance and installations of materials/components.
- Oversee technical and administrative activities for the project
- Review and approve drawings as design reviewers and changes to contract documents.
- Assist the government in providing direction and control of design and construction phase activities.
- Prepare cost estimates.
- Review and prepare invoices
- Perform the construction and closeout phase services in accordance with the SOW to ensure that the A/E's design intent is refined and clarified as necessary during construction, realized in the completed facility, and conveyed successfully into the facility management, operation, and maintenance of the completed building.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of a combined ten (10) years of experience in the field of architecture and engineering, construction, or business management. Of these ten (10) years, at least six (6) years must have been on projects of similar size, scope, and complexity.
- A similar project is defined as a renovation or alteration construction project in an urban setting a minimum 20,000 gross square feet or larger; with construction cost at least $8m. Project must have been at either a governmental, institutional, or commercial office facility, school, airport (not a hanger or other similar storage facility), hospital, courthouse, or museum. Facility must have been occupied and operational during construction.
- Previous experience as a lead inspector.
- Experience in preparing correspondence and maintaining official construction site records.
- Experience in conducting meetings to resolve problems on construction projects, and briefing clients and management personnel.
- In-depth knowledge of construction practices and workmanship, including experience in proper uses of construction materials and installation methods
- Ability to accurately calculate construction costs and time impacts for changes.
- Experience in making material take-offs for construction work, pricing the value of needed work, evaluating proposals and bill of materials, negotiating equitable contract adjustments.
- Ability and experience in the inspection of materials, workmanship, and construction and installation of various systems (such as fire alarms systems) within the inspector's area of expertise.
- Written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of software including Kahua, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Primavera or equivalent scheduling software, review submittals, RFI's, and transmission of digital progress photos.
Skills and Certifications
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) preferred.
- Minimum of OSHA 30-hour construction safety training.
- Experience using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to maintain a valid driver's license.
- Ability to perform and evaluate engineering economic analyses, evaluate proper systems to meet scope requirements, and verify the adequacy of all building systems.
- Ability to interpret Architectural/Engineering plans and specifications.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will frequently engage in activities such as sitting, standing, walking, and climbing stairs. Additionally, there will be occasional instances of bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The role requires the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds. To ensure safety, the Project Manager must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment, including hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots. Furthermore, the position involves frequent travel to various job sites.
