Position/Project Overview:
Project Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC/R Technician for the civil engineering and acquisition support services to the U.S. Air Force’s 1st Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Florida. The HVAC/R Technician will support engineering and operations by performing repairs and construction activities related to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role ensures HVAC/R systems are properly maintained and function in accordance with project requirements and operational standards.
This role is contingent upon award of project.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform repairs and construction work on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems
- Support maintenance and operation of HVAC/R systems within facilities and infrastructure
- Assist in construction and infrastructure projects involving HVAC/R systems
- Ensure all work complies with project requirements, engineering standards, and applicable regulations
- Support system repairs, upgrades, and installation activities for HVAC/R systems
- Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and project personnel on HVAC/R-related activities
- Participate in inspections and evaluation of HVAC/R systems to ensure proper performance and compliance
- Maintain records and documentation of maintenance, repairs, and project activities
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards during all work activities
Required Education, Skills, and Abilities:
Education/Certification:
- No specific formal education degree required
Experience:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a DoD or commercial HVAC/R technician
- Experience must include repairs and construction work related to HVAC/R systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration)
Key Attributes & Skills:
- Ability to perform repairs and construction work on HVAC/R systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration)
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems and facility mechanical systems
- Experience supporting maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC/R infrastructure
- Ability to ensure work complies with project requirements, engineering standards, and regulations
- Capability to support inspections and evaluate HVAC/R systems for proper performance and compliance
- Understanding of mechanical systems related to facilities and infrastructure
- Ability to coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and project personnel
- Skills in documenting maintenance, repairs, and project activities
- Strong attention to detail in diagnosing and repairing system issues
- Ability to follow safety, environmental, and operational standards during all work activities
- Familiarity with DoD, federal, or large-scale commercial infrastructure projects is highly beneficial
- Ability to work independently with self-discipline and minimal supervision
- Professional appearance and conduct at all times
- Physical ability to see, hear, walk, drive, climb, reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
