Position/Project Overview:
Project Solutions Inc. is seeking a Consultant Inspector III (CI-III) to support a Western Federal Lands Highway Division (WFLHD) multi-award IDIQ contract providing Construction Management Services for highway and bridge construction projects. Work includes field inspection, documentation, environmental monitoring, traffic control oversight, materials testing verification, and engineering support tasks defined in the contract.
This role is contingent upon award of project.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide inspection services in accordance with WFLHD Construction Manual
- Inspect contractor work for compliance with contract drawings, specifications, permits, and environmental requirements.
- Identify non-compliant work and recommend corrections or suspension of work
- Monitor traffic control operations for compliance with MUTCD requirements.
- Verify contractor Quality Control operations and review documented testing results.
- Measure and verify quantities for the Government receiving report and pay notes.
- Maintain inspector diaries, daily narratives, measurements, test results, survey notes, and labeled photographs.
- Assist in review of contractor submittals, shop drawings, schedules, and other submissions.
- Prepare draft correspondence, IGEs, and documentation supporting contract modifications.
- Review as-built drawings for accuracy.
- Review and check progress estimates.
- Support disputes documentation and partnering activities.
- Maintain Government equipment maintenance and repair scheduling.
Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:
- NICET Level III (Construction) AND at least five years of increasingly responsible construction inspection experience, including three years on highway or bridge construction; OR
- Associate Degree in Engineering Technology AND at least five years of increasingly responsible inspection experience, including three years highway/bridge; OR
- Seven years increasingly responsible experience as an inspector, project engineer, or equivalent on city, county, state, or Federal highway construction projects.
- Knowledge of MUTCD, AASHTO design criteria, ADA standards, and AASHTO materials specifications preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and construction reporting tools.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for daily coordination, reporting, and stakeholder interaction.
- Valid driver’s license; able to travel to remote substation locations across WAPA’s multi-state regions.
- Physically capable of walking, climbing, and working in outdoor environments in proximity to energized equipment.
