Position/Project Overview:
Project Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced General Engineer Project Programmer for the civil engineering and acquisition support services to the U.S. Air Force’s 1st Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Florida. The General Engineer Project Programmer will support the development and planning of engineering projects by translating requirements into technical programs and project documentation. This role involves preparing designs, cost estimates, and supporting project programming efforts for infrastructure and facility projects.
This role is contingent upon award of project.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop project programming documents and translate customer requirements into technical solutions
- Prepare engineering designs, concepts, and supporting documentation for infrastructure and facility projects
- Support requirement development by collecting, analyzing, and defining project data
- Generate cost estimates, design instructions, and technical inputs for project planning and submission
- Assist in preparing documentation required for project approval (e.g., DD Form 1391 packages)
- Provide technical support in project development and programming activities
- Review and analyze engineering and design deliverables for completeness and compliance
- Support design management and coordination with A/E and construction contractors
- Maintain and organize project documentation and technical records
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other technical materials to support project planning and execution
- Ensure all deliverables comply with applicable engineering standards, regulations, and project requirements
Required Education, Skills, and Abilities:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture
- Degree must be from a program accredited by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) or NAAB (National Architectural Accrediting Board)
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in developing programs, solutions, and engineering designs
- Experience must relate to Department of Defense (DoD) or commercial facilities, infrastructure, and utility systems
Key Attributes & Skills:
- Ability to develop programs, solutions, and engineering designs for infrastructure and facility systems
- Strong capability to translate customer requirements into technical programming and project documentation
- Experience in project programming, requirement development, and data analysis
- Proficiency in preparing cost estimates, design instructions, and technical documentation
- Ability to support development of project documentation such as DD Form 1391 and related deliverables
- Strong understanding of construction, infrastructure, and utility systems
- Capability to review and analyze design and technical deliverables for completeness and compliance
- Ability to support design management and coordinate with A/E and construction teams
- Skilled in technical reporting, documentation, and presentation development
- Ability to organize, manage, and maintain project files and technical records
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills in engineering/programming environments
- Ability to ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, regulations, and project requirements
- Familiarity with DoD, federal, or large-scale commercial infrastructure projects is highly beneficial
- Ability to work independently with self-discipline and minimal supervision
- Professional appearance and conduct at all times
- Physical ability to see, hear, walk, drive, climb, reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
