Project/Position Overview:
This project is located at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, SD. The scope of work involves site clearing/demolition, 24 duplex housing units, water tower, bus garage, school, geothermal field and football/track field. This project is in rural SD which will require driving to/from each day. One way is approximately 1.5-2.0 hrs. from Rapid City. A company vehicle will be provided for travel to and from the site.

This position requires both office and field work, exposing the employee to various weather conditions and construction site hazards. Physical demands include frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds and wear personal protective equipment is required. The position will be the construction site FT.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Read, interpret and understand the construction contract plans and specifications
- Attend meetings as required such as Pre-Installation Meetings, Weekly Construction Meetings, GC Safety Meetings, etc. as designated by the Project Manager.
- Document issues encountered and problems experienced with the construction contractor.
- Review contractor's baseline and progress schedules.
- Draft project related correspondence for PSI Project Manager to review.
- Understand and document inspections during and post construction as well as mock-up inspections
- Inspect the work of the construction contractor for progress, workmanship, quality and conformance with contract documents, applicable building codes and safety standards
- Deliver daily/weekly reports, reviews, evaluations, etc. to PSI Project Manager.
- Review and process Construction Contractor's RFIs and shop drawings and assist in resolution, draft response, tracking, and follow up.
- Prepare estimates for field changes as required.
Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field; AND 10+ years of management experience in the construction management field
- LEED Experience preferred
- Knowledge with mechanical/electrical systems preferred
- Minimum of OSHA 30-hour construction safety training preferred; OR must complete course within the first 60 days of employment.
- Knowledge and experience with construction practices including applicable building codes, applicable safety regulations
- Knowledge of cost estimating with breakdown of labor, materials and equipment costs for proposed construction contract modifications.
- Ability to evaluate payment requests
- Written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of software including MS Office Programs, Blue Beam, Adobe Acrobat, ProjectTeam, Primavera, MS Project, and any other software programs typically utilized.
- Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable on company policy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to walk and climb stairs or ladders on a daily basis to observe and inspect contract performance.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
