Construction Management Representative
Location: Alcatraz Island, San Francisco, CA, Golden Gate National Recreation Area
Salary Range: $80,000-$95,000 DOE

Project/Position Overview:
Project Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Management Representative for an exciting opportunity in San Francisco, CA at Alcatraz Island. We are always looking for hard working professionals to join our diverse workforce and gain experience on a large variety of projects.This project will make Historic Preservation and safety improvements to the National Historic Landmark building to ensure the continuation of interpretive programs and the long-term use of entry/egress components through which the majority of the island’s 1.4 million annual visitors pass when entering and leaving the Cellhouse building.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide technical assistance and support to CO during construction.
- Arrange, attend and facilitate a variety of meetings, including weekly meetings at the project site.
- Thoroughly read all contract plans, specifications, and requirements prior to work being performed.
- Document issues encountered and problems experienced with the construction contractor.
- Review contractor's baseline and progress schedules.
- Draft project related correspondence for NPS to review and issuance
- Inspect the work of the construction contractor for progress, workmanship, quality and conformance with contract documents, applicable building codes and safety standards.
- Deliver reports, reviews, evaluations, design work, etc. to CO.
- Review and process Construction Contractor's RFIs and assist in resolution, draft response, tracking, and follow up.
Education, Knowledge and Skills:
- Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering Degree preferred.
- 10+ years Construction Management Experience.
- Minimum of OSHA 30-hour construction safety training required.
- Knowledge of project building codes, management concepts, understanding of authorities, and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of and experience with construction practices directly relating to seismic stabilization and rehabilitation of structures similar in scope.
- Knowledge of cost estimating with breakdown of labor, materials and equipment costs for proposed construction contract modifications.
- Knowledgeable in concrete repair on historic structures involving cultural/historic sites.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations or codes, cost breakdown estimating and negotiating, and technical writing
- Ability to read and interpret plans, schedules, and other specifications.
- Written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of software including Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, RS Means and PlansSwift, etc..
- Maintain a valid driver's license.
- Ability to walk and climb on a daily basis to observe contract performance.
- Qualified applicant must be able to pass a background check.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
