Construction Project Manager
Location: Sacramento, CA
Salary Range: $85,000-$115,000 DOE
Period of Performance: 303 calendar days; starting January 2025
Project Solutions Inc. is seeking a skilled (On-Site) Construction Manager to for a GSA project at the Federal Building in Sacramento, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction inspection, particularly in paving and electrical conduit installation, and possess strong knowledge of construction standards and materials.

The purpose of this project is to repave the surface parking area at the rear of the building with Low Embodied Carbon (LEC) sourced materials and to install conduit to make up to eight parking spaces electrical vehicle ready. The CMa shall provide full-time, onsite management of the IRA Repaving and Conduit Project at the Federal Building.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Coordinates technical and administrative activities for the project
- Reads, interprets, and understands the construction contract plans and specifications
- Reviews drawings as design reviewers and changes to contract documents
- Ensures that the construction adheres to the construction documents and specifications developed in the design phase of the contract by the government
- Manages the inspections of physical work performance and installations of materials/components
- Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with all internal and external stakeholders (GSA personnel, client agency personnel, contractor, etc.)
- Ensures quality and safety standards are met
- Prepares IGEs and reviews schedules
- Reviews pay applications
- Develops and controls budgets and funding strategies
- Ensures the construction schedule meets established contract dates
- Maintains effective communication with project stakeholders and facilitates meetings
Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, business management, or construction management (from an accredited university)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in construction quality management preferred
- Knowledge of construction management, including concrete work and electrical conduit installation for electric vehicle charging stations
- Experience working on design-build projects
- Previous experience working on government projects a plus!
- Ability to interpret architectural/engineering plans and specifications
- Knowledge of construction means and methods, engineering economic analyses, and building system evaluation
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient in preparing reports, correspondence, and client/management briefings
- Knowledge of construction means and methods
- Familiarity with modern construction products (quality, uses, and applications)
- Knowledge of commonly utilized construction management software (Kahua, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Primavera, etc.)
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) preferred
- OSHA 30-hour construction safety training preferred
- Possession of a valid driver's license
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
This position requires both office and field work, exposing the employee to various weather conditions and construction site hazards. Physical demands include frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds and wear personal protective equipment is essential. Frequent travel to the job site(s) is also required.
