Construction Management Representative

Project Overview:
Project Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced, full- time Construction Management Representative for the rehabilitating critical water and wastewater utility systems at Wahweap and Lone Rock within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area to replace outdated infrastructure and improve reliability for park operations and visitors. The Construction Management Representative would be responsible for observing construction activities, documenting progress, reviewing schedules and costs, and ensuring the contractor’s work complies with contract requirements and quality standards.
This role is contingent upon award of project.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Observe and document construction activities to ensure progress, quality, and compliance with contract plans, specifications, and safety requirements
- Maintain daily logs and photo documentation of on-site work, including detailed reports of construction progress and issues
- Review and analyze construction schedules, cost estimates, and contractor proposals for accuracy and adherence to requirements
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety plans and regulations, documenting any issues and reporting them to the Government
- Manage and track project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, logs, and contract records using the designated CM software system
- Review progress payment requests and certified payrolls to verify accuracy and compliance with contract and labor requirements
- Facilitate and document meetings, including progress meetings, inspections, and coordination sessions, ensuring timely meeting notes
- Assist with contract changes, negotiations, and inspections, including preparing scopes, tracking proposals, and supporting project closeout activities
Required Education, Skills, and Abilities:
Education/Certification:
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification is required
- Strong technical knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and contract documents, supported by relevant education and/or experience
Experience:
- Experience on construction projects of similar size, scope, and complexity is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in construction management or related roles, including observing and documenting construction work
- Experience reading and interpreting construction contracts, plans, and specifications
- Experience with construction cost estimating and evaluating contractor proposals, including labor, materials, equipment, and pricing breakdowns
- Experience performing and reviewing construction schedule analysis and progress tracking
- Experience managing construction documentation and administrative processes, such as RFIs, submittals, logs, and reports
- Experience conducting or supporting inspections, meetings, negotiations, and coordination activities throughout construction projects
- Experience monitoring construction safety practices and compliance with applicable regulations and standards
Key Attributes & Skills:
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and understand construction contracts, plans, and specifications
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools, including MS Teams, Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, and MS Project
- Solid technical knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and safety regulations
- Capability to analyze cost estimates, proposals, and construction schedules with detailed breakdowns
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills, including maintaining logs, reports, and project records
- Effective communication and coordination skills, including facilitating meetings and maintaining professional, neutral communication
- Ability to observe, inspect, and evaluate construction work for quality, progress, and compliance
- Physical ability to walk and climb regularly on-site to monitor construction activities.
- Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy for construction records and reports
