Salary Range: $58,656 - $65,000 DOE
We're seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Rapid City. As a key member of our HR team, you'll play a vital role in supporting our employees and fostering a positive work environment. Key responsibilities include assisting with recruitment and onboarding, administering HR processes, providing front-line HR support, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. To excel in this role, you should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, in-depth knowledge of HR functions, and the ability to handle confidential information.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process, answering questions and providing updates.
- Facilitate pre-employment screenings for candidates.
- Process new hire paperwork and ensure compliance with hiring regulations.
- Conduct new hire orientation to introduce employees to company culture, policies, and benefits.
- Address employee inquiries and concerns regarding policies, benefits, and work-related issues.
- Manage leave of absence processes including FMLA, military leave, and other approved absences.
- Administer employee benefits program and ensure timely enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Communicate company policies and procedures to employees.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, performance reviews, attendance records, corrective action documentation, change of status forms, off-boarding paperwork, new hire requests, PTO requests, and other required forms.
- Process employee paperwork such as change of status forms, termination paperwork, and performance improvement plans.
- Identify training needs for employees and facilitates training programs to address those needs.
- Investigate and report workplace accidents and injuries.
- Manage employee separations including exit interviews and final paperwork.
- Build strong relationships with managers and employees to provide effective HR support.
- Cultivate a positive work environment by fostering a strong, values-driven company culture through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Communicate best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support additional HR projects and iniatives as needed.
- Source and screen candidates to identify top talent.
- Manage job postings on company's recruiting platforms.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years human resources experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with HR Software (Jazz HR, Indeed, HRIS, etc.)
- Experience working in construction or manufacturing environment a plus.
